Anna Banana turned 5 on Saturday. It's hard to believe 5 years have flown by. Several weeks ago she asked for a heart-themed party. Since her birthday's a day before V-day, I quickly seized on the opportunity since heart-themed things would be everywhere! The day after Christmas when I asked her if she got everything she could possibly want, she said she still needed a teddy bear. So we decided for her birthday we'd surprise her with a trip to Build-A-Bear. So Saturday morning we headed to the mall. Build-A-Bear is always busy, but imagine the day before V-day! Yikes. There were the usual kids packing in the store. Then throw in a few teenage girls buying stuffed monkeys for their boyfriends and one desperately lost teenage boy who had the sales associate pick out everything (down to the outfit) for him. He looked terribly out of place.
Anna had a great time and made Ellie the bear. We got home in time for our family birthday party. Even though she's still pretty shy, she had a lot of fun and came out if it with some great colorful clothes - her favorite. Though, she is now in love with colorful knee-high socks! We've got to find out where Grammy got them.
